First Look

OMG this box looked so fun!  I absolutely loved this first look.  And the first smell was pretty good too.

The Information Card

The Winter 2015 Fortune Cookie Soap theme was “Welcome, Santa”.  It doesn’t specifically say it, but it’s clearly inspired by the holiday movie “Elf” which I watch every year.  The box included the following:

~Buddy – Fortune Cookie Soap: Buddy has “notes of holiday fruits, candy, crushed vanilla and a hint of mint”.  It’s very sweet and smelled like candy to me.  I love it.

~Swirly Twirly Gum Drops – OCD Gand Sanitizer: Swirly Twirly Gum Drops is a “sweet and whimsical blend of cotton candy, lemon drops, and fresh pear nectar, dancing with tart cranberries and black currants”.  I thought Buddy smelled like candy, but no, THIS is candy.  It’s a super fun scent for sure.

~World’s Best Cup of Coffee – Whipped Cream: Do these product names make anyone else want to watch Elf?  Because I am dying to now!  This whipped cream smells, like you guessed it – coffee. It’s not super strong though because it’s mixed with Vermont maple syrup – which is one of Buddy’s favorite food groups.

~Shower Duet – Shave Oil: I have never seen a shave oil from Fortune Cookie Soap before.  That doesn’t mean there has never been one, but I’ve never heard of it.  Shower Duet is a blend of “spruce and vanilla, fit and fruits and hyacinth and mint”.  I’d describe it as earthy and clean.

~FCS Cheer – Perfume Oil: Cheer is a “rich, buttery vanilla pound cake, over dark frankincense, patchouli and cedar”.  I think I’d prefer it without the patchouli, but it’s very pretty scent.  This actually would make an amazing candle.

~Yellow Snow – Bath Bomb: LOL!  The name is amazing!  Yellow Snow is a “juicy blend of ripe plums, whipped caramel, vanilla jasmine and exotic woods, with just a squeeze of zesty Mandarin oranges”. I like that this is on the smaller side and I’m going to use it in WB’s next bath.

~Christmas Gram – Face Plant: I thought these were mini shower bombs, but it turns out they are face steamers.  You add 2 or 3 of them to a sink or a bowl full of hot water, drape a towel over your head and just let the scent refresh you and open your pores.

~Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins – Dry Shampoo: This product is perfectly named!  It’s a dry shampoo in a bottle with a baby powder type top.  You pour out only what you need and it doesn’t make a giant mess.  It’s a light floral scent and I didn’t have any trouble with residue in my hair from it.

Oh man I am so excited to get this box now! My family is obsessed with Elf and quotes it all year long. When someones’ angry or being a jerk, “He is must be South Pole Elf…” and when anyone is frustrated, “Son of a Nutcracker!!” My daughter and I love Fortune Cookie bath products. I’ve never ordered their seasonal boxes and decided to try…now I am beside myself with excitement. They nailed it!! Thanks for the great review!

For those who care, their products are pretty toxic — artificial fragrances, colors, etc. Not “natural” at all. Yes, they’re cute and smell good, but if you steer toward “natural” products, these are not a good choice (i.e. LUSH)!

Just like any company they have some products that are more natural than others, Lush is quite an offender of claiming to be ‘natural’ and using unnatural things in their products. I love both companies but neither are as natural as they claim to be (Lush especially because I don’t think FCS claims to be natural really). Many of the ingredients the companies use are very similar.

I absolutely want to get this box now! This is perfect!
