First Look

I rarely know (or remember) the theme of these before I open them and was really excited to see this one.  It looked very fun.

The Materials

The box included absolutely everything you need to complete the project.  I have never had an issue with running out of materials for any Doodle Crate project I have worked on. If anything they give you more than necessary.

The information booklet includes detailed instructions on how to complete the project. They also post videos to YouTube with additional instructions.

Stencil Options

The first step was to select the stencil you wanted to use on your bag. I went for the “chevron”.  I thought about the French Bulldog, but I didn’t want Buddy and Baxter to get jealous ;).

In Process

The instruction booklet suggested doing a test using the included cardboard first.  But it also mentioned that once you use a stencil, it’s basically done for and that you need to make a copy of it first (and recut it) if you want to use the same pattern.  I thought I would just go straight for the bag because I knew me trying to make an exact replica of the stencil wouldn’t go well.

All Done

I ended up using the same stencil all three of the chevron patterns on my bag.  You could tell by the third one (that’s the top one) that things weren’t as perfect as they’d been when I started.  But it worked and I thought the results were great.  Screen printing itself was much easier than expected.  And fun.  I really enjoyed learning about the process and would rank this as one of my most favorite Doodle Crate projects.

This whole thing is super cute. I love that little french bulldog stencil and would put it on everything.
