All of the materials were securely packaged and I couldn’t wait to see what the project was!

Turns out the June 2016 Adults & Crafts project was “Beer Caddy” and included all the materials and instructions to build and paint one!

The box included the following materials: Wood, Dowel, Bottle Opener, Nails, Sandpaper, Paint (two colors) and Paintbrushes.  I debated using the included paint (I received pink and blue), but instead opted stain mine.  I just felt like the stain would be a better choice for us personally.

Step #1 – Building the Caddy
Actually, according to the instructions, the first step would have been to paint the caddy.  However, I felt like assembling it and then painting it would be easier, so that’s what we did. B built it for me and it took him maybe 10-15 minutes?  I am sure it would have taken me about 45 minutes had I done it myself ;).  The only additional tool needed for this (other than what was already included in this package) was a hammer.

Step #2 – Staining the Caddy

I used a very dark stain for my caddy and it took only one coat.  The longest part of the process was waiting for the stain to dry.  It took probably a good 12 hours for it not to be at all sticky.

The Result!

Adults & Crafts June 2016 Subscription Box ReviewI love the way this turned out!  It holds 6 bottles of beer (or super fancy wine coolers) and has the bottle opener right on the side so you don’t need to worry about bringing one with you.  I thought this entire project was super fun and I love most of the projects they have on their site (they also have a shop with individual projects) so I am looking forward to seeing what’s next from them!

That’s awesome! I just built one of these yesterday at a craft party from a studio that just opened.

That’s a great project for adults! This might be a fun box to get for winter time when I have more free time.
