Avenue A by Adidas ships in basically a giant shoe box.  It’s a fun box to open up!

The Winter 2016 Avenue A by Adidas was curated by actress and musician Rita Ora.  The box contained the following items which are described by Rita as “something comfortable,” “something exclusive” and “something that any woman can feel comfortable in”:

~Rita Ora x Adidas Pullover Hoodie ($80): The “Banned from Normal” line is not something I would buy on my own, but I will admit it’s comfortable.  It’s 70% cotton / 30% polyester French terry and super cozy.  I think it runs big (mine is a large for reference), but it’s designed to have a relaxed fit.  I will either wear this around the house (it’s always cold in my house) or give it to a friend as it’s not something I would wear out.  I do love the back of this, though. The tiger (?) trefoil logo is something I would wear on a hoodie.

~Rita Ora x Adidas Tights ($39.99): These tights are just as wild as the hoodie, but I like them better.  Because, leggings.  It’s hard to read the “Banned From Normal” on them, which I also think makes me like them better.  I could do without the mesh sections in between the yellow lines, but otherwise, these were comfortable and true to size (maybe a tad small).

I must say, I felt very Kylie Jenner like in this outfit. I think she wore it better though ;).

~adidas 2 in 1 Top (~$30): This shirt comes from the adidas Fall/Winter 2017 Collection, so Avenue A subscribers were the first ones to get this!  I love the fit of the tank, but I doubt I will ever wear the mesh top.  Luckily they aren’t connected, so there are a ton of possibilities with this.

~adidas AlphaBOUNCE shoes ($110): Love these!  They are super comfortable and totally my style.  The BOUNCE™ technology provides energized comfort for all sports, all day.  These are exactly what I expect to find in an Avenue A box, and I am super happy with them.

~Adidas Originals Superstar Shoes ($80): I know some people will love getting a lifestyle shoe from this box, but I much prefer the athletic / running shoes (which I wear as everyday shoes anyway).  The Superstars are a total classic, but just not my style.  They also felt really large on me.  Really large.  They were about a size too big and I need to see about exchanging them (or finding a friend who wears the size I got).

All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of $339.99 for the Winter 2016 Avenue A by Adidas. I loved the AlphaBOUNCE shoes, but this box was mainly a miss for me.  The clothing was not my style, and I’m not looking for lifestyle shoes in a running box subscription.  Hopefully, Spring is back to the amazing box I expect from adidas!

What do you think of the Winter 2016 Avenue A by Adidas box? It is now sold out, but the Spring 2017 box is on sale now (you can check out a spoiler on that one here)!

Where did you get your headboard? I’m in live ?!

    Love* haha.

  3. Deborah Borunda

I think you look fantastic in the outfit.

What a getup!!! I have this box on the way to me, but… that outfit! Yikes. TOTALLY not my style. I don’t think I would have worn that even when I was younger with wilder tastes. I think I will feel the exact same as you about the items in this box. The only thing I really like is the grey shoes. I will see if I can give away the outfit, but may need to exchange for another size to do that. Not sure anyone I know will wear it, anyway! If it is really comfy, I may keep it to wear around the house, but then I’ll probably be the punchline of my husband’s jokes! I read the quote from Rita Ora that you posted above… that she wants “…something any woman can feel comfortable and sexy in.” Does she really think that any of these items are sexy? Maybe I’m just too old and out of touch!

I have to second what Deborah said – I think you look fantastic in that outfit. If I had seen it without you modeling it I would’ve thought it was beyond hideous but it looks great on you. I also like the gray shoes.

  6. Melissa

I actually like everything in this box. I don’t think the Rita Ora items are that wild if worn separately. Thrilled with both pairs of shoes but I size up in running shoes so need to exchange my allstars for a smaller size.

What size are the shoes? Maybe you could sell them?

Did I ever e-mail you???? They are a 9. But I think they run at least a size big.

What’s the purpose of that 2 in 1 top? is there any Adidas collection for table tennis practice? & let me know if there any adult 45 size sports shoes.
