Mine Chest Review December 2016 Subscription Box

Mine Chest, the first official Minecraft subscription box, is a bundle of hand-picked, official, Minecraft goodies, delivered right to your doorstep every other month. Exactly what’s included is a closely-guarded secret, but expect an exclusive t-shirt, exclusive items, a premium collectible chest, a unique project, and a selection of official collectibles. It should be noted that Mine Chest has recently joined forces with Loot Crate and now ships bi-monthly instead of monthly. In addition, the price has increased from $36.99 to $39.99/box.

Mine Chest ships via USPS. They used to ship during the end of the month, but they now ship at the beginning of the month. Or they are supposed to anyway. Hopefully with Loot Crate involved all these shipping issues will get worked out soon.

I can’t even explain how excited my boys get when Mine Chest arrives.  I have to sneak it in from the mailbox and take pictures quickly before they get their hands on it.

The December 2016 Mine Chest theme was “Home Sweet Home” and included the following items:

~Minecraft Home Sweet Home T-Shirt: This shirt is a Mine Chest exclusive!  It has little Snow Golems and is meant to look like sweater, but it’s actually a long-sleeved t–shirt.  My 8-year-old LOVES it and wore it yesterday.

~Minecraft Shearable Sheep: LOL!  You can shear this sheep using the enclosed scissors.   I believe there were a variety of figures sent out this month so let me know which one you receive!

~Minecraft Cookie Cutter Set: This is another Mine Chest exclusive!  The set includes a Snow Golem and a Potion Bottle.  It’s pretty certain that we will be making Minecraft cookies over break.  I will try and remember to post on Instagram when we do.

~Minecraft Potion Pin: Another Mine Chest exclusive!  My 4 year-old loves wearing these and they end up on his backpack when he gets the fresh ones to wear.

~Minecraft Stamp & Ink Pad: So far every Mine Chest has included a Pin and a Stamp & Ink Pad.  It took us a second to figure out what this was, but it’s a book!  I am not 100% sure what my kids will end up doing with all these Minecraft stamps, but they are happy with them, so I am happy.

~Mine Chest Exclusive Stickers: These stickers were quickly claimed by my 4-year-old.  He puts them on pretty much everything from his shirts to his iPad.

My girls love the Minechest too. We got the same items, except instead of the sheep, we got Steve with an iron pick axe. The kids were actually fighting over Steve, so I convinced them they needed to give it to their cousin as a Christmas gift. Problem solved and their cousin loved getting Steve!
