~Good evening! This weekend was laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, you know, just normal stuff. My parents took the boys to the Zoo yesterday so there was a little fun mixed in too.

~Has anyone ever gotten two dogs at the same time? How crazy of an idea is this? I am trying to decide if it’s more work than getting them a few years apart or less because you are just getting all the puppy craziness over at one time? Buddy absolutely needs a puppy brother and I think I’m ready too. Of course, I want a little dog and B wants a big dog so that’s why I ask!

~Please tell me someone lives near a Sprinkles and has gotten one of these amazing Care Bear cupcakes?? Also, someone please tell me why there isn’t a Sprinkles in Detroit? Hopefully one day?

~I know we covered this once before, but if you sell LuLaRoe or have a favroite consultant, will you drop a link for me? My obsession continues and I am always looking for new consultants!

That’s it from here. Hope you are having a great night!

Spread the love

Two puppies at one time, I would be in heaven!! I guess it’s good our HOA only allows two dogs per household…
I did not think I was a big (as in size) dog person until we got our Ricky, it’s seriously like having a real life teddy bear in the house and now I don’t know if I’ll ever want to be without a big one! I love my little one too, but I definitely like having the best of both worlds.

Why yes!! Yes, we did get Cocoa and Cola at the same time — puppy brothers! Of course, we had no kids and no other dog! Pretty sure I’m available to dog shop with you!!

Do you ever watch Live In the D? I almost called and adopted that little shih-tzu they featured as their pet of the week last week…..

I can’t recommend shih-tzu’s enough. So sweet and good natured and friendly. They don’t shed but you do need to get them clipped every 4-6 weeks, 8 weeks in winter. Love mine. Not yappy, very happy, loves kids and cats and dogs.

My sweet Baxter was a 1/2 shih-tzu, 1/2 yorkie. Seriously the best dog ever!!!

Hubby wanted a doberman, I wanted a Frenchie, we just got the doberman and the Frenchie is up next. I would have liked to have raised 2 at once, but it didnt work out. This way though, it’s only one dog in obedience and she can teach the new pup.

      Ha, yes!

Also we got two dogs about two years a part. Total pain. Get them together!!

When we did puppy research I read to be careful if getting multiple puppies at once because behavior problems can arise!

      Ohhh, good to know! Thanks!

I got my two boys – (both minature schnauzers) Asher & Myles – about a week apart. My other dog had passed away two weeks before 4th of July and I was depressed about it, so my aunt during 4th of July hunted and hunted and found these two pups. Myles was 7 months old and I strongly suspect had only been around men. Asher was like 8 weeks and just 4 lbs. Myles was 25 lbs.. Myles straight up ignored me for the first several months and just wanted to play w/ little Asher. Like it was a good three or four months before he would come to me for lovin’s. I think training my first dog (Parker) was easier than it has been trying to train these two fuzzy messes, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. Also I think they really like having a brother to play with and wooly around.

I got two puppies at same time from same litter at a rescue, it was a lot of work. Ut now it’s nice to have them play together. We do crate training and vet reccoemnded keeping them separate just so if one gets sick you know which one it is. Does make each vet visit seem like so much more money when paying for 2 exams, 2 heartworm treatments, 2 vaccines, etc but you had that in the past when you had 2 so probably used to that part

I wish we would have gotten 2 German shepards instead of one. She always wants to play with our Shih Tzu, but he’s not into it cause he’s older.

Why not get two older dogs? You won’t have to deal with the puppy whining and destruction, and they probably need homes more than puppies. Also, please consider rescuing from a shelter rather than buying from a pet store or breeder. Good deeds, good company. Win-win.

I have been looking! I need something non-shedding (my allergies) and something that is kid (and other dog) friendly, which seems to be so hard to find!

  10. Kam

    Jen,

Don’t let anyone try to guilt you into rescue, etc.

People in MI are so good about adopting dogs that I know of more than one rescue that imports rescue dogs from out of state.

After three years of looking, discovering that 90% of the public shelter dogs were pitbulls, and being one of 25 people to apply for the same mutt dog from a private rescue, and the coordinator being rude and discriminatory, and trying to foist a dog unsuited to us bc of the coordinator’s psych isssues… we went to a breeder.

She was a vet tech that loved the breed, and occaisonally bred a litter to help further the breed and support her family. The puppy was the same cost as puppies from a “rescue.”

Our vet loves our pup and encouraged us to breed her if her health checks out. HE was rejected by a dog rescue. His tech told me not to bother bc dog rescue people have been infiltrated by crazy. True story.

I’m sure it’s not all like that, but after how I and multiple other people I know have been treated, I will either adopt out of state, or stick w breeders I trust.

I will never again have some stranger snoop my home, and have access to my personal information. Not cool.

Yes, please do consider adopting your next furbaby. I’m on the board of a local rescue and I can tell you there are soo many that need good homes. We literally get some of every breed and age from our shelter. Petfinder is a great tool to find exactly what you’re looking for!
