POPSUGAR Must Have Box ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes about a week to arrive. They seem to ship in batches (no idea if there is any rhyme or reason to the order they use) so some people get their boxes delivered before other people have gotten shipping notices.

Fun Fact: POPSUGAR Must Have Box was the first box I have ever subscribed to way back in June 2012!  It was POPSUGAR Must Have “Bag” back then, and their first shipment was in July 2012 (you can see my review of that box here).

The June 2017 POPSUGAR Must Have Box was inspired by “mermaids * palm trees * waves * beach reads” and includes:

~The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: A Novel ($17.10):  I was hoping for a different book to be included, but only because this was also a Book of the Month selection for June.  It is the type of book I would select for myself to read and I will be making time this weekend to get started.

From Amazon:
In this entrancing novel “that speaks to the Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor in us all” (Kirkus Reviews), a legendary film actress reflects on her relentless rise to the top and the risks she took, the loves she lost, and the long-held secrets the public could never imagine.

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?

Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.

Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

“Heartbreaking, yet beautiful” (Jamie Blynn, Us Weekly), The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is “Tinseltown drama at its finest” (Redbook): a mesmerizing journey through the splendor of old Hollywood into the harsh realities of the present day as two women struggle with what it means—and what it costs—to face the truth.

~Captain Blankenship Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray ($24): Yes!!  This is one of my favorite Sea Salt Sprays!  It adds waves and textures and gives you that beach look, even if you are completely land locked.  I usually use it on my hair when it’s wet and let it air dry (like I would if I were just getting out of the ocean and them letting my hair air dry), but will also use it on dry hair when I need a little texture as well.  It has a “beachy rose scent,” but isn’t strong or off-putting. It’s just fabulous.

~Aloha Collection Mid-Size Ocean Coco Palms Pouch ($36): This pouch is made out of 100% coated Tyvek (the wrap they use on houses) so it’s basically indestructible.  You can hand wash this and hang it to dry, so it’s going to stay clean too.  It’s 11.5″ across x 2″ wide x 8.5″ tall, so it’s quite roomy and will easily hold sunscreen, your cell phone and some beach makeup essentials.

~Billabong Aloha Forever Trucker Hat ($17.95): Ahh, a trucker hat.  Totally not my style and not something I’d pick for myself (baseball hats in general aren’t my style), but I love that POPSUGAR included this.  They have never included a baseball hat in one of their boxes and it’s pretty rare to receive a baseball hat in subscription boxes in general.  The back is adjustable and if my hair is a big enough mess  after working out (as it tends to be in this hot weather), I may be tempted to give this a try!

~NCLA So Rich – Mermaid Tears ($18): Mermaid Tears revitalizes and hydrates your cuticles and nails.  It’s described as a “delicate blend of honeysuckle and ocean breeze evoke an eternal reminder of true love.”  It smells great and nourishes your cuticles without being messy (it has an easy to use dropper).

~Meri Meri Blue and White Party Straws ($5.95): We go thru a ton of straws around here so these are very welcome!  Note: POPSUGAR also included paper straws in their July 2014 box.

~Belgian Boys Cookie Butter Cookies ($0.99): These cookies are shaped like little mustaches and are speculoos flavored!  They are yummy and I pretty much finished this package as soon as I opened it.

~Sponsored ItemStarbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink ($2.19): Ohh, I love these!  They have fewer calories than a “real” frappuccino and are still mighty tasty. I don’t think they have an overly coffee like taste, but I also like coffee, so I may be biased.  The box also included a $1 off two bottle coupon.

All totaled I came up with a value of $122.18 for the POPSUGAR Must Have Box.  I liked this box!  The sea salt spray and cuticle oil alone make the box worth it for me, and everything else was just a bonus. It felt summery and beachy and as I mentioned, the hat *might* not be “me,” but I love the inclusion!
