Birchbox offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. I have been subscribing to Birchbox for five years now and would say they are one of the most (maybe the most) well-known subscription boxes out there. They are certainly one of the longest lasting boxes.
Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month.
This review is on the “Curated” July 2017 Birchbox. It was available instead of your regular monthly box or could be purchased in the shop for $15 ($10 for subscribers). I opted for this box in place of my regular monthly box.
The July 2017 Curated Birchbox included the following items:
~Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser (30mL) ($4.50): I am excited every time a Kiehl’s item pops up in a subscription box. I just love this brand. It’s made from Brazilian clay, and while it does a great job exfoliating skin, it doesn’t strip or dry your skin.
~Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion (15mL) ($6.18): This is a sea-salt spray, in lotion form. It’s perfect for me because it’s designed to be used on damp hair and then you just let it air dry. It gave me nice texture, but this is one you have to be careful not to overuse. Too much made my hair too sticky/heavy.
~Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum (10mL – Full-Size) (Sunrise) ($16): Blush Serum is a nourishing water-based cream colour for cheeks and lips. Sunrise is a pretty, almost shimmery, pink shade and I found it easy to apply (I used my fingers). I would love to see more Beautaniq items in Birchbox boxes down the road!
~MAC Prep + Prime (6mL) ($6.20): Prep + Prime is an oil-free primer that helps make your make-up look better by neutralizing any redness and evening skin tone. I have been using it under my BB cream, and I love it. It just makes everything smoother!
~Juliette Has a Gun Anyway (~$2): Juliette has a Gun Anyway is a blend of green lime essence, neroli, jasmine, and ambroxan. I was hoping I would get more of the citrus notes, but I picked up more of the floral ones. Not a bad scent though and it’ll be nice for summer since it’s not too strong.
All totaled the July 2017 Curated Birchbox had a value of $34.88. This was one of my favorite Birchbox boxes – curated or otherwise, in a long time. A great value and a ton of great goodies!
Did you get Birchbox this month? What you’d get in your box and what’d you think?
