Play! by Sephora Review - October 2017
The October 2017 Play! by Sephora theme is “Complexion Companions” and included the following items:

~Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster (4.5mL) ($15.38):  A hydrating serum that gives your skin a plumped look, preps your skin for makeup and smooths the appearance of fine lines.  I am not sold on this.    It’s not enough to use without a moisturizer, and I haven’t seen any noticeable changes, so right now it just feels like an extra step?  I will keep at it though.  It may just take time.

~Make Up Forever Ultra UD Invisible Cover Foundation (.16 fl. oz.) ($6.81): Great coverage on this!  I normally just use a CC cream and found this to be a little thicker but with a ton more coverage.  Nice!

Play! by Sephora Review - October 2017

~Laura Mercier Translucent Settler Powder (0.12 oz) ($4.56): This powder gave me a little extra coverage and reduced shine.  I’m a fan.

~BECCA First Light Filter Face Primer (6mL) ($7.20): I found that this brightened my skin without making it shiny and slick.  I loved it.  Not too much, but enough to help my skin from looking dull.

Play! by Sephora Review - October 2017

~Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops (Moonlight) (2.8mL) ($7.84): I mixed mine with my daily moisturizer, and it gave my skin such a great glow.  I think this will be amazing for summer when you want something on your face, but not a full face of makeup.

Play! by Sephora Review - October 2017

~Chanel Gabrielle (~$3): Gabrielle has notes of Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Grasse Tuberose and Ylang-Ylang. For some reason I always expect Chanel scents to be too strong.  That was not the case at all here!  This was softer and so pretty.

Play! by Sephora Review - October 2017

All totaled my October 2017 Play! by Sephora had a value of about $43.  That’s a great value, but I wish the box had a little more variation this month.  I know the theme was “Complexion Companions” and the box did deliver on that, I just would have preferred some variety.

What did you think of the October 2017 Play! by Sephora?  If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
