Boxwalla boxes are made in India from tree-free handmade paper. The boxes are made out of cotton scraps, using the traditional art of paper-making that involves nine steps and takes several weeks. The handmade paper is then meticulously fashioned into the boxes that the goodies get shipped in.

The February 2018 “For The Love of Chocolate” Boxwalla Food Box included the following items:

~Alma The Genmaicha Crunch Bar ($6) & The Matcha Mint Bar ($6): The Genmaicha Bar was my favorite item in this entire box.  It’s “Dark” milk chocolate with a hint of malt and filled with toasted Japanese rice.  Like a Nestle Crunch Bar, but better.  Way better.  The Matcha Mint Bar is described as a cool after-dinner chocolate mint flavored bar, upgraded with the use of Matcha Tea Powder, Seely Peppermint Oil, and Ecuadorean white chocolate.  It was a miss for me.  The matcha flavor just isn’t for me.

~Alma The Sea Salt Hazelnut Crunch Bar ($6): This decadent bar features woodblock chocolate with a hazelnut praline center, local hazelnuts, and Oregon-harvested Jacobsen sea salt.  I’m usually not a hazelnut fan, but this bar has made me one.

~Chocolat Moderne Lime Chocolate and Toffee Bar ($9): I think this is the first Lime Chocolate bar I have ever tried.  It’s interesting, but I don’t think it’s going to become a new favorite.  It is a crunchy dark chocolate bar with nuggets of buttery toffee and infused with fresh lime.  Very rich!

~Arete Gianduia Bar ($15) & Guatemala Lachua Bar ($12): The Gianduia is made with hazelnuts from Piedmont Italy and Brazil Fazenda Camboa cocoa beans.  Very indulgent and satisfying!  The Guatemala Lachua 58% Dark Milk Chocolate is a single origin chocolate with organic cocoa beans from the Laguna Lachua region of Guatemala.  It’s rich and creamy and super addicting!

All totaled the February 2018 Boxwalla Food Box had a value of $54. This month’s box was all chocolate, and I loved trying them all.  I am hoping the next box mixes things up a little bit more though as the last two months have been pretty chocolate heavy.
