Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples tailored to your skin, hair, and style. As a Birchbox subscriber, you’ll receive a monthly box (it’s reusable and recyclable) filled with five expert-selected premium samples and easy-to-follow insider tips. If you fall in love with a sample, no worries – they sell the full size version in their shop.
Birchbox ships via USPS. This box was inside an outer cardboard box. I should note that this outer box is a leftover from a previous month.
Birchbox did not have a curated box option this month and also allowed a sample choice selection. I have no idea if I picked anything, but I am guessing no, because I didn’t receive any of the sample choice options and I cannot recall selecting anything. Based on the old boxes and nature of the samples is assumed that the new owners of Birchbox (FemTec) are trying to get rid of past inventory. I am really hoping this doesn’t go on much longer.
My December 2021 Birchbox included the following items:
–Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask (30mL) ($9.90): I receive this last month. While I liked it, the entire point of subscription boxes for me is to try new things so I am not thrilled by this repeat.
–Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (1oz) ($5.65): I love this stuff. I have received it in an assorted boxes over the years and it’s fantastic. I last received it in my June 2020 Birchbox. It gives my straight hair nice texture without weighing it down.
–Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips (0.1fl.oz) ($2.90): Another item I have received in the past (back in July 2020), but I do love it. It’s a great lip moisturizer, but also works for cuticles and even conditions eyelashes.
–Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara (0.15 fl.oz) ($8.04): Another repeat item (I received this in January 2020). Since I have lash extensions and don’t ever use mascara, I have no idea if this is a good repeat or not. I left it sealed so I can donate it.
–NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Leave-In Treatment ($3.47): This is actually a new sample for me! It’s a leave-in treatment that repairs and conditions strands. I haven’t tried it yet, but it smells great!
All totaled my December 2021 Birchbox had a value of approximately $30. This box was a miss for me. Too many duplicate samples and just not very exciting.
Did you get Birchbox this month? What you’d get in your box and what’d you think?
