Sunday Social

I skipped a few weeks of Sunday Social, but I’m back again!

1. What is the name of your blog and how did you come up with it??
Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. How did I come up with it? Hmm, who knows? It explains my blog exactly so that might have something to do with it. It’s kind of a long name though. If I were to name it again, I might use a shorter name. What short name you ask? I have no idea.

2. What do you love the most about blogging??
The fun comments I get and all the blog “friends” I have made. Plus, it’s a fun outlet. There aren’t many chances in real life that allow me to share every single thing that annoys me without interruptions. Also, B does not care about my clearance trips to Target or listen to me discuss my monthly subscription boxes to no end. So it’s good that I have a place to do it. Otherwise, we’d be divorced. And I wouldn’t be able to be retired anymore. Ugh. How sad would that be?

3. What are your 2 favorite posts you’ve written??
Well, I love them all so much so it’s hard to pick. I always like my “Things That Annoy Me” posts because I feel so much better after writing them. I am going to pick this one:
Things That Annoy Me: A Random Mix as a favorite because the same thing happened to me last weekend at Jo-Ann Fabric and my head about popped off from annoyance.  Listen, there 20 people in line and all these crafty old women couldn’t even find their wallets once they got to the checkout.  Oh my.  I also liked the WB’s The Birth Story.  I typically would never write such a post, but it was so funny, I couldn’t resist.  Plus, it all went so fast I feared I’d never remember it if I didn’t write it down.

4. What is something you’d want to tell someone just starting out in blog world??
Just have fun with it. Blogging is only as fun as you make it. Don’t be shocked when no one comments on what you think is your best post ever. Also, get a thick skin because, no matter who you are or what you blog about, you will get nasty comments at some point. You can’t please everyone! Just be you and you’ll be fine.

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you’ve had??
I don’t want to sound like a know it all, but I don’t think I’ve learned anything from blogging? I mean, at the end of the day it’s the internet and you never know if your readers are the people they say they are if they are or if the blogs you read are telling the truth. It’s not uncommon for people to make up lives on the internet (shocker I know), so you just gotta be careful. If it smells like a rat, it usually is.

6. Give us 3 blogs we NEED to be following that you love.
Mine of course. And I guess these other ones too:
Maybe if You Just Relax: Jen’s blog is basically the only blog who has limited view in google reader that I don’t mind clicking through to see. She’s so honest with what they have been through and yet still maintains a healthy snark and fun attitude.
Jenni from the Blog: Do you think it says something about me that the first two bloggers I recommend as being fabulous share my name? Hmmm…
this bliss life: I wanted to pick Jenn over at Perfectly Imperfect, to keep it all about the Jen’s / Jenni’s / Jennifer’s, but I restrained myself. I have “known” Tiffany for years and love what she’s done with her new place. I don’t wish she lived closer so I could buy one of her pieces!

Phew. I always make these link-ups way harder than they are. It didn’t help that I had to stop to feed the WB (B’s just not as good at it as I am), get L lunch and clean up toys from the floor because I couldn’t stand looking at them anymore ;).

Spread the love

Jennifer

LOL I love your comment about people not commenting on your “best post ever”! It’s so true! I’ve written things thinking “oh yeah! they’re going to LOVE this!!” and then NADA! LOL!
