Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Today I’m smiling because:

~First of all, B and I have the flu.  Brutal.  I’m not smiling about that, but I am smiling that my flu seems to have only lasted like 12 hours and I am feeling MUCH better than I was last night.  B is still down for the count, but we only need one of us fully functional, so we are okay.

~We had a great Thanksgiving and are totally enjoying our holiday weekend. Having B home for nearly a week is amazing and while we haven’t gotten much of anything in the way of holiday decorating done (and probably won’t be now that we are sick), we have been having a good time sitting by the fire at night watching Dexter.

~My brother, who due to his broken ankle is basically a shut-in (I kid, I kid) and bored out of his mind, has taken on the project of verifying ALL the links in the Monthly Subscription Box list. Also to update me on boxes which are now closed, etc. You have no idea how excited I am so excited to get this totally perfect!

~L is having a great time up-north and hasn’t let his silly cough (he always has a cough it seems) get in the way of his fun. There is actual snow on the ground up there which is the biggest deal ever. I was so hoping they wouldn’t get some freak warm wether spell and it’d all melt before he got up there and happily, it didn’t. He’s one happy 5 year-old!

A horrible picture, but you get the idea.

~We went to the mall last night after dinner (this was of course before we got sick) in search of an amazing deal for L on snow pants (we found nothing), but the look on WB’s face was so so worth it when he saw all the Christmas lights that were up. He was oohing and ahing all over the place and B and I were loving it.

Running to get to the lights quicker!

~I broke down and bought the Bath & Body Works VIP Black Friday tote!  I feared I might regret the buy, but I am quite happy about it.  Plus, all those totes were just sitting there all sad there were still there at the end of the day. I had to rescue one!

~I love seeing everyone’s Christmas tree pictures on Facebook.  And pictures of kids on Santa’s lap?  Love those too!  They always make me smile!

That’s it from here!  What’s got you smiling today?  Any big plans for the weekend?

Spread the love

So sorry that you and B were hit by the flu, but at least you’re feeling better now! And love seeing little kids enthralled by Christmas lights, as the look on their faces is priceless!

I laughed so hard, that is exactly how I feel about the majority of my purchases!

I felt so bad for them all! I expected them to be sold out by the time I got there!

Hope you and your little guy feel better soon!

It was actually my husband and I! Fingers crossed the kids don’t get it!

The fact that it seems to hit both of you suddenly and left after 12-24 hours sounds like food poisoning. 🙁 Hope you both are over it now.

I think it was just a fast moving bug. My aunt and cousin had it the day before thanksgiving and thought it was food poisoning so we all went to dinner there anyway. Then most of is got sick too but not everyone.
