Friday’s Letters

Dear Unroll.me, Why, all of a sudden, is my inbox brimming with e-mails I thought I un-enrolled from?  What gives?

Dear Lush, I sense another visit to you this weekend to get some more goodies!  Everyone keeps telling me I need to try this.  And that.  And I think I do too.

Dear L, I can’t wait for the Ice Cream Social with you tonight!  A party with ice cream?  And games?  And prizes?  Sounds like my kind of Friday night!

Dear FedEx, What is this mystery package I got a notification about?  Please please please be our Snackeez cups!  L can’t stop talking about them and it appears B is also excited about this invention.  Hurry up and get here!

Dear Subscription Box Information Cards, I am sorry you had to go, but  enough was enough.  Considering that I never once looked back at any of you, parting ways was for the best.  I hope you are recycled into something fabulous.

Dear Me, Go to bed earlier.

Dear Target, I don’t know why, but I have so far been able to resist your Easter clearance this year.  My stockpile is set for a while so that may be why.  I do still plan on heading to visit you today.  Just in case I missed something amazing.

Dear The Red Wings, That game last night was heartbreaking.  Ugh. I don’t want this to be over!

Dear WB, I don’t know what I would do without you helping me to call the dogs inside.  I call them and they look at me like they can’t hear me.  You and L call them and they run to you in two seconds.  They’d do anything for you two!

    Hi Jennifer,
I haven’t been able to read your blog for a month. Been busy ….gallbladder surgery, moving etc. I just wanted to drop you a line that I promised when I’ll go back to UK I’ll bring back some sweets and chocolates for you, that trip has to be delayed because I haven’t got my green card back. After two years I had to renew it for a permanent residency and looks like immigration office is taking time with it.

No worries! Sounds like you have your hands full! Hang in there!

last night (Thursday) I went to a Target in a fancy shopping center. Their Easter clearance candy was a whopping 30% off. Really???
Thankfully I know one where it was 50% off on Wednesday 🙂

I know some stores went to 90% off today (and 70% off for candy). Not mine though!

If I recall correctly, Unroll.me doesn’t actually process unsubscribe requests for the senders you black list, but more creates a filter. So, you would have still been receiving the emails you unrolled from, but they were going to your trash instead. Not sure why it’d stop working, though.

…I guess that wasn’t very helpful, huh? 🙂

I wonder why they are all in my inbox?? Maybe I will try again…

        Hi Jennifer!

I hope things have gotten back to normal. We had some issues a few weeks ago for our Yahoo users. Things should be back on track now though.

        All the best,

I will have to try again. I am still getting tons of spam!

    2. Tammy

Ah me too! Argh. I thought it might be because I changed my email password recently, but changing that on unroll only made it so I am now getting the email from unroll, but still only a few of the emails that are supposed to be rolled up are. I am giving them a little longer to get it together but I may have to give up on them.

We tried a fresh face mask from LUSH this week, it was amazing, It made my husband look years younger. I couldn’t believe it. We will be getting the mask regularly for sure. 🙂

    1. Jennifer

Which one? I want to look years younger!

      1. kimc

we used the Ayesha fresh face mask. I’ve heard good things about most of them depending on your skin, the cupcake one looks/smells nice but we don’t have oily skin. I love its only $7.

My Targets didn’t have much of anything on clearance. Some stuff, but unless I wanted Peeps, it was pretty much done. I got a huge score the day before Easter and Easter at Toys R Us. The day before Easter everything was 50% off, and then on Easter most things were 75% off. I got $250 worth of stuff for around 60%.

    1. Jennifer

What all did you get at TRU?/

      1. victoria

I got 4 Easter books. I was shocked when I saw the put their books 50% off! I got 2 off the big Peep stuffed animals and 1 little one, 3 egg dying kits, 60 little plastic egg things, 12 jumbo egg things, 3 bags of “grass” 1 Ressees Easter stuffed animal that is a tiger and sings when you press it, 1 Easter shirt, 2 bags of Dove eggs, 1 Easter basket, and one of those Peeps plastic cups with the straw (kind of like a Tervis or those Mason jars, but just a normal cup), oh and a cabbage patch that was on sale, but wasn’t Easter. lol. There was so much stuff! My daughter is only 1 so I got it to use for next year, or maybe the next few years. lol.

        1. victoria

          Oh and 4 reusable bags.

        2. Jennifer

          Nice!!!!!!!

Looks like I’m not the only one having issues with unroll.me — I wonder if they only filter things for a certain amount of time ie. 6 months or so, and then start to bring the emails back to generate more visits to their site and more business? Who knows. All I know is, the Target clearance at our store this morning was pretty BLAH. Sure, there was a ton of candy left, but almost NOTHING else. I wound up getting two of the m&m eggs to bribe the kids to sit still in the store, a bag of easter tollhouse morsels and some easter grass and spent a whopping $1.77 ! I’m hoping the summer clearance this year ROCKS!

    1. Jennifer

I hope so too! I did not buy a single thing at 90% off. Not a single thing.
