As you can see, everything is packed very securely and with lots of packing materials.  They send a lot of glass items, so the packaging materials are a must.

The July 2014 Homegrown Collective theme was DIY, Summer “Essential” Home Detox and included the following projects:

~Essential DIY – Air Fresheners: This may have been the easiest (and my favorite) Homegrown Collective project ever.  All you had to do was add warm water to the spray bottle and essential oils.  And you have air freshener.  Why didn’t I realize it was that easy before? I opted for the sweet mandarin for my air freshener scent and it’s amazing!

~Essential DIY Oil Diffusers: This was another quite easy project!  You were suppose to add a “carrier” oil such as almond grapeseed or safflower, but I didn’t have any of those on hand (I wish they would have included it) and then add essentials oils.  Instead I used whatever random oil I could find in the cupboard and I think it worked fine.  I will admit that I used a lot of essential oil, but whatever.

~DIY Essential Oil Candles: I have made candles before (and maybe even from Homegrown Collective), but this was easily my favorite candle project.  You melt the wax in the microwave, mix in the essential oils, secure the wick in the candle jar, pour the wax in and that’s it!  It smells amazing and looks gorgeous.  If I saw / smelled this at the store I would probably buy it!

This was probably one of my favorite Homegrown Collective boxes to date. The projects were quick and easy to do, but the results were amazing!

What do you think of Homegrown Collective?   Boxes are $48 /month and, of course, are even cheaper if you buy a 6-month ($39/month) or 12-month ($35.75/month) subscription!  If you are interested in subscribing, or just want to learn more, click here.  And don’t forget to use the code “RAMBLIN10″ to save $10 off your first box!!!

This was my first Homegrown Collective box and I was thrilled with it! I don’t think I’ll ever buy air freshener from a store again. This was so easy, and if/when I run out of the oils that came with the project(s) – I can pick them up pretty much anywhere. I think Bath and Body works has some that are amazing.

It was so easy! I love that they gave use so many different scents and so much of each!

The curation of this box is spot on! I stopped my subscription to make room for other boxes, but after seeing the past couple of months I’m kicking myself so much right now. I love those diffusers! I like that it comes with everything you need, but it’s just so pricey 🙁

It is a little pricey. But I think if I were to buy everything separate I would end up with a ton of stuff I don’t need!

Would you say that most of their projects are on the easier end of the difficulty spectrum?

    1. Jennifer

It depends. These were SUPER easy. Like they took 5 minutes. Some are a tad more involved, but I wouldn’t say any of them are hard.

Homegrown collective has been on my sub box wishlist forever! I will someday bite the bullet and sub to it.

This company has a F rating from the Better Business Bureau, with many complaints alleging that they removed money from people’s accounts without permission, and that they accepted money for subscriptions and never sent anything to the subscribers.
