It’s time for another Thursday Thoughts! If you want to participate, but have no idea what a link-up is, you can check out my explanation of it here.

~We got back from our family trip last night (I didn’t think I should post on the internet that my house was going to be empty the past few days) and have been busy unpacking, getting ready for school and work and all that kind of stuff.  Grocery shopping needs to happen today along with laundry.  So much laundry. And box reviews of course! Oh and L has swimming which I almost forgot about.  Should be a busy day!

~My Basin Soap Mystery Bag(s) came yesterday and it turns out that they were both the same.  I think I did pretty good for $10/bag though.  Each bag had 6 slices of soap which appear to sell for $5.99/each. They all smell great and are more like works of art than soaps.  I’d get it if it were offered again.

~Let’s see, what other subscription boxes should be arriving this week? I have lots of reviews to do, but I am still expecting the Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy BoxCitrus Lane Mystery Box, PashBox, Five Four Club, Julep, Pantry Gourmets, Hazel Lane and Yogi Surprise.  I am sure I am missing a few, but even if I am not, it will be a fun end to the week.

~I finished up Big Little Lies on the plane and it was fabulous.  I was NOT expecting that twist at the end at all.  But I liked it.  A lot.  Next up is Gone Girl which I am planning to start this weekend.  Is it one of those books that will get me hooked quickly?  I hope so!

~Now on to the Las Vegas trip.  That city is just so different every time we go.  B and I went on the High Roller which was really cool and I thought “The LINQ” was awesome.  I loved all the little shops (why don’t we have a Kitson in Michigan?) and restaurants and bars.  The kids had a ball in the pool and also loved Circus Circus.  It was a good trip for sure. 13 of us went in total and hopefully we can talk more of the family into joining in next year.  I always leave there so exhausted, but so happy.

~The Tigers are in the Playoffs and they start tonight!  I am nervous just thinking about it. It’s probably for the best that I can’t watch it though.   Maybe I will be less stressed out just listening to it on the radio.  Maybe!

~Does anyone else use the App Slice to track packages?  I had been using Posted which I really liked except for the fact that you have to manually enter everything in which is a pain.  So I thought I would give Slice another try.  So my problem is that sometimes shipments are appearing twice.  Why is this?  What can I do about it?  And is there any way to add a picture to the shipment information?  Help!

That’s it from here! What are your weekend plans?

I have a love/hate relationship with the book Gone Girl. I loved the story, but hated the ending and the changing points of view in the writing. I am not spoiling anything by saying that though. On the other hand, I am super excited to see the movie, hopefully this weekend.

    1. Jbox

I am with you! That ending – Ah!

  2. Sneaky Burrito

I’m excited, my Yogi Surprise arrived at my post office this morning. I should get it today — I’ve had excellent service from my post office lately. (I desperately need that yoga mat spray they put in the spoilers; my mat is kind of smelly and sticky.)

I wasn’t expecting that twist in Big Little Lies but I liked it as well.

Gone Girl had me hooked pretty quickly. I’m so excited to see the movie!

I think I might start Gone Girl with you. I have been wanting to read it. I am so jealous of your beautiful vacations….I need one soon!!!!!

    1. Jennifer

      Yes! Start it with me!

We have had a lot of vacations these past few months! It’s usually not like this. LOL. We have nothing planned / coming up though, so the fun is over!

where was that huge eos display? Sounds like I need to kit Kitson on my Vegas trip next month! : )

    1. Jennifer

It was at Kitson! Totally go there!!!

I can’t wait for our Vegas trip, but I think it might be a bit more adult than yours (grin). Actually, I think there will mostly just be a lot of eating LOL.

  7. Kayla

The A’s lost in the wildcard game, unfortunately, no more post season for my team! 🙁 That eos display is adorable! I have been wanting to read Gone Girl, I might start it as well!

Gone girl was great. I read it within a few days but some people have been reading it in one sitting (crazy, I know). I’m headed down to Disneyworld this weekend (and Universal Studios) so I’ll definately check out that soap store!

  9. RobertAnn

Oh man, you will LOVE ‘Gone Girl’. The first part of the story is a little slow, and hard to get through but once you do, you will love it. I can’t wait to see the movie!

    1. Jennifer

That is good to know. I would rather know that it will take a bit to get into than have everyone say it starts off great.

  10. Heather

I just started reading Gone Girl I read her other two books and they were fabulous hoping this will be just as good

    1. Jennifer

I guess I should read them all!

  11. Ashlee

Ok I have to know. Where is that cupcake ATM? Did I miss that somewhere? Good find!!

    1. Jennifer

It’s in that LINQ area! There is a Sprinkles there and it has an ATM! I actually used the ATM and then went in the store and got a bag to carry my cupcakes. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Amber

    OK, I’ll talk about Slice.

I’ve been using it since they started (years ago). Initially, it was a great app that worked flawlessly. Now, every update makes it worse (and worse and worse). Yep, every order does get duplicated. I’ve talked to them about it numerous times and they act like I’m the only one who has the problem and it’s clearly my fault. But the app also only catches half my orders (and I order a lot), or will only add one item from an order, or will tell me my order was too complicated (even though it adds orders from that merchant all the time).

The fact is, Slice sold to some big company, and they’re more interested in the way the app looks than how it works. I can complain until the cows come home, but it really is the only option out there if you get a lot of packages. But man, it is annoying as sin, isn’t it?

    1. Jennifer

Okay, I am so glad to hear that someone else has problems with every single thing showing up twice. I do not get that one bit. And I have noticed that it doesn’t catch everything. On the other hand, I don’t want to type them all in Posted either…

      1. i have the exact same experience but pretty much its the only thing worth using because i cannot keep up.

  13. PA Anna

Glad you and your family had fun! I don’t know if I could ride the High Roller for a half hour. I received the same Basin soaps. I hope that Gone Girl will be offer as a free book with purchase at BB. Cupcake atm????

    1. Jennifer

It’s actually a really cool ride. I think Birchbox said in their video it would be a GWP this month. And yes, isn’t the Cupcake ATM cool???

  14. Jen

I picked up that Basin soap sampler too – thanks for letting us know about it! I got four of the same as you with two differences – instead of the dolphins I got the green frog and instead of the flower I got blue bells. Very pleased with the value on this!
