~I don’t know about you, but I am exhausted! The weekend was spent eating turkey (no joke, I swear I woke up with a turkey hangover on Friday), shopping, decorating the house for Christmas and doing laundry. Loads and loads and loads of laundry! Still on my “To Do” list tonight is to wrap 24 books for our Advent Book Calendar, find Fred the Elf and decorate the tree in my office.
~We finally converted from regular outdoor Christmas lights to LED ones and they are so.cool. I have clearly been behind the times on this because they convert from multi-colored lights to blinking ones to white ones. All in the same strand! What? It’s like magic. Such a genius idea.
~A few of my favorite Black Friday coupon codes expire tonight, so you if you haven’t checked them out yet, you totally should. I think “the best” (aka most popular) codes are the PopSugar one, the Kiwi Crate / Doodle Crate /Koala Crate / Tinker Crate and probably the Birchbox one! Did you use any?
~Speaking of Black Friday (and the rest of the weekend), did you go out shopping? What deals did you score? I picked up some of the 40% off clothing at Target for the boys, a PopSugar subscription for my cousin, Koala Crate for WB, the Nerd Block “Grab Block” for L and a few other things. Oh and I got B a few things form the Bespoke Post shop and got their free Mystery Black Box! I feel like I made a nice dent in my holiday shopping.
~Today is the LAST day to sign up for the Reddit Secret Santa Gift Exchange. There are over 200,000 people participating worldwide and I believe that matches get sent out tomorrow. Get in on this so I have someone else to talk to about it!
~Did you hear that Snookie got married this weekend? And Jwoww, Sammi and Deena were bridesmaids! How fun! Also, I read in US Weekly that CT proposed to Diem at the hospital before she passed away, but she denied him. No idea if that’s true, but it was a topic at our dinner table on Thanksgiving (well it was a topic at the “Kids” table anyway)!
That’s all I got for now! But I want to hear about your Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping (did you shake down a young Target employee on Thanksgiving for a $30 tablet like Jen did?), Christmas decorating and, well, whatever else you did this weekend!
Last year someone ordered one of my zombie brain soaps to send to someone for their Reddit gift exchange and even had me make a special label for them. I’d never heard of Reddit it until then, I still don’t know much about it.

I finally caved and ordered the 6m PopSugar for myself! Also used the Birchbox coupon to stock up and went a little crazy with Lindt chocolates (they have a deal of 10 75-count bags for the price of 5, plus free shipping). DH is going to flip when we get 10 big bags of chocolate! Figure I can make gift tins for Christmas with them all. Plus, well, chocolate for me! 🙂
I jumped on that PSMH deal, I just couldn’t pass it up. I did some shopping on Thursday with my niece, but didn’t go to TARGET or Wal-Mart. Overall I had a great holiday weekend, going back to work is gonna be tough. I also just signed up for the Secret Santa…. That sounds like sooo much fun!!!
I made my first thanksgiving dinner this year for my fiance and I and our good friend who doesn’t see her family very often. We have been her family for the years I have been in college and I enjoy every second. My family always had thanksgiving lunch so thats what I did. She left earlier than expected so my fiance and I ended up going black Friday shopping. We have gone the past 3 years and we weren’t going to go this year. But because our plans changed we went. We didn’t really go for anything in particular, but I live on the central coast in California and all of the stores were pretty quiet when they were first opened. No where near as crazy as bigger cities seem to have! Super fun experience though. We went shopping 4 times within 24 hours because the store opening times were so spread out. Then Saturday Dylan and I had a date night and went to go see The Theory of Everything movie about Jane and Stephen Hawking, so good!
I got a crap load of clothes at Old Navy for my husband and daughter. Bought myself one shirt and of course I go to put it on and there’s a button missing and the alarm still attached. Sighhhh.
I went to target and didn’t really have much of an agenda besides some kids clothing and a booster seat. Ended up grabbing a 50″ TV that someone abandoned in a food aisle for my mom. Worked perfectly for me since we were planning on buying her a tv anyway but didn’t want to fight for one of those sale ones. Score!
As far as boxes, I held off on PSMH since I have 3 referral months starting this month, but I’m sure I’ll regret it after those three months are up. I did snag 3 months of Orange Glad though for $34 bucks. The reviews you do always look so good.
I broke down and ordered from Sephora, Nordstrom, and The Body Shop (I don’t need any of it!!)

Got matched with my secret santa and will be shipping hers out tomorrow. I made a stocking full of all kinds of stuff she said she liked: makeup, costume jewelry, food, cozy socks, makeup bag.. Now I just wonder what I’ll get!

That doesn’t mean they have you! But they will be extra excited to get your gift I bet if they are depressed!
