Two questions today…

1. How often do you get your hair cut / colored? I (generally) color my hair at home, but I need to color it at least every 6 weeks. At least. Haircuts I am extra bad about because I can’t (well I can, but the results aren’t amazing) do it at home. I am trying to get better though and think every 8-12 (probably closer to 12) weeks would be reasonable for me.

2. Who is your favorite fictional TV character? I really had to think about this one so I curious to hear everyone’s answers. I couldn’t decide between Carrie Bradshaw (I want to be friends with her in real life and raid that shoe closet) and Jesse Pinkman (from Breaking Bad). I like him. A lot.

    1. I hardly ever cut my hair. I cut my bangs at home every few weeks when they get too long. And my hair is usually to my waist, so when it gets past my butt, I usually just trim it myself so that’s it more manageable. It does look better when I get it professionally trimmed, but there’s just so much anxiety from going to a salon! They always want to chop all my hair off.
    2. I love Coach Eric and Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights… I want them to be my parents!!

  2. Britney

    1. When I’m blonde I color it every 6-8 weeks, when it’s brown I wait a long time because my new growth doesn’t show so quickly. I probably cut it once every 3 months or so, just when it needs it… I don’t really have a set schedule for that, especially since I’m trying to grow it out.
    2. Carrie Bradshaw, Serena van der Woodsen, and Jackie Burkhart!

1 I have a super hairdresser. A good hairdresser is important so a cut can look fresh for months. and I get blonde highlights. So hair appointments are convenience only for me, since it takes so long (2-3 hours) and I have so much kid stuff going on. So 3 maybe MAYBE 4 times a year I get my hair redone. I like to dye my hair dark and have it totally redone once a year, so the blending is even. I have found the blonde highlights seem to blend nicely with my grey hair. so you cant tell when my hair grows in. You can see roots, but the blonde and the grey fuze together haha.
2 George Crabtree from Murdoch Mysteries. Sherlock Holmes, Mrs Marple, Poirot…. but thats book and tv.

    1. I try to stay with 6 weeks but sometimes it goes longer. My sister puts the box on for me as I am horrendous at it. I do not cut that often though – maybe every other month.
    2. Lorelai Gilmore is my favorite fictional tv character. That show makes me crack up – my daughter and I love to watch it together.

    1. I cut my hair probably every 12-14 weeks but I color it ever 6-8 weeks, and lately it’s been teetering on the 6 week interval. My natural hair color is really dark brown and I color/highlight it to a very light blonde. I’m getting married in October so I’m being extra careful to stay on my hair game lol. Luckily, my hair gal and I are also good friends so while it’s not cheap, it isn’t an arm and a leg in cost either.
    2. I always wanted to be friends with Corey Matthews and Topangah on Boy Meets World or Sabrina the Teenage Witch 🙂

I trim my own hair. It is long and all one length so it’s pretty easy. Plus the waves hide any bad cuts 🙂 I am going to get my first real hair cut in maybe two years next month for my sister’s wedding. Woo hoo! I’m 35 and don’t yet need to dye my hair but I do maybe once a year. The sun lightens it in the summer and then it grows out in the winter and looks ombre (which I don’t like). I love salon.com which is where I get my hair color. Because of the length and thickness I need 3 boxes of hair dye!

  7. Stacey

I get mine cut every 4-5 weeks. I have a pixie cut and my hair grows so fast..

Fav fictional TV character is a tough one. I think its a tie between Megan Draper from Mad Men or Sherlock Holmes (played by Benedict Cumberbatch!)

    1. I get my hair cut and colored religiously at my hairdresser every 6 weeks. I’ve been going to the same guy for about 14 yrs. He is looking to move from CA to WA. I’ve already warned my husband that I will need to fly to WA every other month! Oh and remember it’s not “gray” hair, it’s “unpigmented hair” 🙂

    2. Man that’s gonna take me a while. Might have to be “currently on” or “past. And then I think “who would I like to be? Or have as a friend?”. I’m obviously over thinking this!

  9. Megan

    1. I dye my hair at home with a Demi permanent dye so it eventually washes out, for me it takes 3ish months which is perfect timing to find a new color. 🙂 hair cuts I do with a stylist every 3-6 months depending on if if have anything important coming up.
    2. Favorite TV character would be Ron Swanson from parks and recreation or anyone modern family, I want to be adopted into that entire family!

  10. Lindsay

    1. My sister in law is my hairdresser and she does it for free, so I’m not picky. When she had time I get it done, and I leave the style up to her. I don’t color it, unless she needs a volunteer for learning a new technique. (Hot pink ombr? hair for the win!) I’m more picky about my son’s spiral curls than I am my own- she and I argue about the appropriate length hair for a 4 year old boy at least once a week. 😉

    2. Lorelei is amazing, and very much like my mom was when I was younger. I’d love to know her in real life!

I got my hair colored like 4 weeks ago and it still looks okay so I’m hoping to avoid retouching until I’ve at least hit 6 weeks. Usually if I do it myself, I go months between. And cuts? Ha, I rarely get it cut. I had the split ends trimmed and some layers added but usually I go years without cutting it.

Fictional characters?? All of the Golden Girls, Captain Kirk, Marshall from How I Met Your Mother, Georgina Sparks from Gossip Girl, Pee Wee Herman but I’d have to go to his Playhouse! Oops, thought the question was who I’d want to hang out with but my answers still stand.

  12. Jenny

    Oh hard questions this week.
    1. Hmm I never color my hair but I’m starting to get some grays so as I’ve told you I really need to do it at home soon. And when I got my last haircut it had been 18months. LOL but I do trim my own bangs pretty often and I don’t really get split ends so I can go a long time.
    2. This one might be even harder. I’d lean towards Sydney Bristow or Buffy Summers since I mean look at their guys but they are also badasses. Then I think about how I don’t really want to be that hard ass. LOL so it has me thinking maybe Rachel since who doesn’t want those Friends.

    – I tried to get my hair cut every couple of months, but this past couple of years I have been extremely busy and now since my days are getting easier I can get back on my schedule.

    – As far as a fictional TV star, I would want to meet or hang out with would have to be tasha from power, any of the walking dead cast I actually would LOVE to be on the show… LOL =)

  14. Linnea

    1. I’m really bad at keeping up with my roots and getting my hair trimmed, so…I get it done maybe once or twice a year. ?

    2. This is a tough. I can’t choose just one! Charlie Kelly from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Gob Bluth or Tobias F?nke from Arrested Development.

  15. K

    1. I used to color it at home every 8ish weeks. I did this for about 10 years and then suddenly developed a severe allergy to hair dye. (My whole face and neck swelled up and I needed steroids to stop it! Do your patch tests every time, people!!) Now I do a temporary wash every 1-2 weeks, because I don’t care to be fully grey before 30. ?

    2. Liz Lemon from 30 Rock. I am she. She is we. Lemon out.

    1. Jennifer

OMG Liz Lemon!I would love to be friend wither.

And that is scary about the hair dye. I never ever do a test patch. I obviously should though.
